How This Works
Every unit in a category converts through one shared base unit. For length that base is decimal inches, for weight it's pounds, for pressure it's PSI, and so on. Pick a "From" unit, enter a value, and every other unit in that category updates at once, so you're not stuck guessing which single conversion you needed. Temperature is the one exception: Fahrenheit and Celsius aren't a straight multiplier apart, so that conversion uses its own formula instead. Wire and sheet metal gauge don't convert from a formula at all. They're standardized size tables, so picking a gauge just looks up its published dimension.
